Tue, 27 Apr 2010 17:57:00 -0700 Digital Performance http://nimdur.posterous.com/digital-performance http://nimdur.posterous.com/digital-performance

PAP were delighted to be invited along to the inaugural Steve Dixon  performance recently in the White Room Theatre, University of Ulster Magee campus. The

Dixon, author of seminal new media performance manual "Digital Performance" manages to flawlessly combine real time performance with highly stylised and evocative large scale projections, all served on a bed of cutting edge, progressive sound.  The result is thought provoking, challenging and deeply moving. Performance at the cutting edge of digital technologies.

The performance was the culmination of a frantic day long workshop attended by students of Drama, Dance and Creative Technologies.

Here are some pictures from the performance. More can be found by on our Flickr photostream.

The creative arts scene in Derry has maintained a vibrancy unmatched in these islands for a long time. Creativity and culture run to the very core of society here, from local to international, from audio to visual, and from traditional to modern. In a year that  commemorates the founding of our walls, we look forward to developing  the buzzing creative energy that is propelling us towards an exciting future.

Our Bid

Renowned for a groundbreaking multi-disciplinary arts scene now deeply rooted in our communities, our bid will showcase local and international talent from across the cultural spectrum and explore every opportunity to generate creativity throughout the city in every field from business and tourism to education and the arts. Building on our remarkable physical, social and cultural achievements of the past, we will work together to create a winning bid for UK City of Culture 2013.
